CCL Current News and Events

CCL of Kansas City, with the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas hosted a Teacher Training Seminar, October 18-20, 2013, at St. Therese Parish. Eight couples completed the basic training required for teacher certification. Those couples are currently working to finish their certifications and begin teaching. In addition, several other couples expressed interest in teaching but could not attend the weekend session. We look forward to announcing the new teaching couples as soon as they are certified. We thank all those who worked to make the weekend a success, including the dozens of volunteers who cooked, watched children, cleaned facilities, set up tables, made phone calls, and PRAYED! We especially thank those who felt called to this ministry and gave up their weekend to work on teaching certification.

The Couple-to-Couple League's NFP instruction program has received full approval from the USCCB's Natural Family Planning Program. CCL is the first NFP provider to be endorsed under the bishops' revised standards of 2010. "We're honored to receive this recognition...It reinforces our commitment readiness and willing to serve..." said Michael Manhart, PhD, CCL Executive Director.

The Couple to Couple League now offers on-the-go fertility tracking with the release of its new online charting program CycleProGo. Using CCL's approved Sympto-Thermal Method, CycleProGo allows couples to chart electronically, record fertility symptoms, and determine the fertile and infertile times of the cycle. We have been recently blessed with a number of new teaching couples in the area. We congratulate Chris and Jana Coffman, Michael and Christina Paoletti, and John and Shannon Rasmussen on the completion of their training as CCL teachers of NFP. Please join us and in welcoming these new teaching couples, and praying for them in their ministry.

CCL is constantly in need of new teachers and promoters. Additional teachers can help us teach more couples NFP by extending the reach of live courses, making them even more convenient in location and schedule. Promoters can increase the effectiveness of CCL by spreading the good news about NFP, encouraging married couples in the daily lives and getting people in touch with resources to help their married lives. Professional training is free for both positions except for some inexpensive materials. Learn how you can make a difference today by contacting CCL.

A Wine and Cheese Reception was held on January 26. Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph Family Life Director Dino Durando and his wife Cathy gave a wonderful talk on "NFP and the Virtue of Hope." About 70 people attended and enjoyed the evening of fellowship.
